On October 25th, Twitch streamer Emiru (real name Emily Schunk) hosted a disturbing streaming session that’s still rocking the streaming world. Emiru issued a detailed statement of allegations of psychological/domestic violence, stalking, harassment, sexual assault, and blackmail threats by her ex-partner, Mizkif (real name Matthew Rinaudo).
The incident shocked the entire online creators’ society, primarily given the fact that both Emiru and Mizkif are leading figures in the world of Twitch streaming and had been residing together in Austin, Texas, among other online creators known as OTK (One True King).
“Enough Is Enough”: The Reason Emiru Finally Spoke Out
Emiru confessed that she had been avoiding discussing Mizkif all year, but the reported repeat of his actions in Los Angeles prevented her from staying quiet.
“Because of this, I cannot in good conscience sit here knowing that I know critical information about someone that almost no one else does and not say anything”
A Hug That Turned into Horror
Emiru’s most alarming allegations involved Mizkif’s physical contact after Emiru was seen crying on her couch.
“Suddenly, he tried to climb on top of me and shoved his hand down my pants. I screamed.” And then instead of apologizing, he just said, “I feel weird now, I feel like I did something wrong, I have to go.’ Then he left while I was still sobbing.”
Doors Locked, Screams on the Other Side
Emiru painted a picture of emotional chaos as she spoke of times when she was locking herself alone in her streaming room while Mizkif was banging on the door and screaming at her.
“The Alleged Blackmail Plot”: “I’ll Destroy You”
As Emiru stated, Mizkif was more than just an abusive partner. There was an attempt by Mizkif to weaponize threats of blackmail. Mizkif told his friends that if Emiru criticized him, he would defame her name. The ultimate goal was to get the rest of the streaming community on his side.
At TwitchCon, she declared Mizkif threatened one of her employees:
“If she ever talks about me, I’ll destroy her.”
The Rabbit Smear Campaign
Possibly the most astounding accusation was Mizkif’s reported scheme involving accusing Emiru of murdering her rabbits, which had actually died naturally over a period of three years.
“If you try to threaten me to stay quiet, especially using my poor dead animals, I’m not going to stay quiet.”
Lawyered Up and Ready for Court
Emiru revealed that prior to going public, she consulted a lawyer that she showed screen shots of Mizkif’s messages where he keeps on asking her to reconnect. Emiru also revealed that she filed .restraining orders in both California and Texas.
Mizkif’s History: A Pattern of Controversy
This isn’t Mizkif’s first storm. In 2022, he was accused of helping cover up an alleged sexual assault against streamer Adrianah Lee. She later filed a defamation suit, though Mizkif said in January 2025 that the case was “thrown out.”
The Safety Issue on Twitch Gets Dragged Back into the Limelight
Emiru also pointed her finger at Twitch itself, claiming that the streaming platform did not protect her from an attacker during TwitchCon. This problem is an indication of a larger issue concerning accountability in the streaming world.
A Twitch Earthquake With No End in Sight
Being on the receiving end of restraining orders, Mizkif’s silence, and the internet ablaze, this is most definitely not the end of this saga. This could impact not only Mizkif’s life going forward but also the current integrity of Twitch’s policies on protecting its creators.
