Emiru Calls Out TwitchCon Security After Assault: “They Laughed About It Behind the Booth”

TwitchCon has found itself in hot water after streamer Emiru revealed the horrifying details behind her recent assault at a fan meet and greet, and her words are nothing short of scathing. While the viral clip of the incident already sparked outrage, Emiru’s new thread paints Twitch’s security in a far worse light than anyone expected.

A Fan Crosses the Line and Chaos Breaks Loose

During her meet and greet, a man reportedly forced his way past multiple barriers and even other creator booths before grabbing Emiru by the face and attempting to kiss her. She fought him off before her personal security intervened. Twitch later issued a statement claiming the man was “immediately caught and detained.” But according to Emiru, that could not be further from the truth.

“He was allowed to walk away from my meet and greet,” Emiru wrote, adding that she did not hear about his eventual detention until hours later.

Twitch Security: Nowhere to Be Found

The most damning part of Emiru’s statement comes not from the assaulter’s actions but from TwitchCon security’s alleged indifference. While her own hired bodyguard reacted instantly, Emiru claims the Twitch-hired staff stood by and did nothing.

“There were at least 3 or 4 other Twitchcon security staff in the area who did not react and let the guy walk away, as you can see in the clip since they don’t even appear in the frame LOL,” she wrote.

From Safety Guards to Stand-Up Comics

If that was not enough, Emiru revealed her friend overheard Twitch security joking behind the booth moments after the incident. Instead of checking if she was okay, she says staff were “laughing about how they did not even see what happened” before casually moving on to other conversations.

The streamer did not mince words: “So if no one was checking if I was okay or if I needed anything and they let the guy run away initially, I have no idea what anyone hired to keep the event safe was doing LOL.”

Ten Years of TwitchCon, Gone in One Tweet

Emiru, a decade-long TwitchCon attendee, says this year’s experience has pushed her over the edge. She confirmed this will be her last TwitchCon, calling on other creators to reconsider attending.

“I did not feel cared for or protected, even bringing my own security and staff. I cannot imagine how creators without those options would feel,” she admitted.

Twitch’s PR Spin Meets Emiru’s Receipts

Twitch’s official narrative about the man being “immediately detained” struck Emiru as pure damage control. “I’m sorry but that is a blatant lie,” she stated, crediting her manager’s persistence for ensuring the man was finally caught at all.

The Streamer Tea Is Not Over Yet

While her Twitter statement shook the gaming community, Emiru teased she has “a lot more” to say and will go live to spill everything. Until then, her final message to fans was clear: “Stay safe y’all, everything is going to be okay.”
