Daughter of Bill Cosby, Ensa Cosby has passed away. According to a family representative, Ensa Cosby passed away from complications from a renal disease. Cosby’s son, Ennis, was murdered in 1997 after being shot in the head after a robbery gone wrong. He was changing his tire on the side of the road when a robbery suspect shot and killed him.
Ensa Cosby was the light in her father’s eyes. She made cameo appearances in the hit show, the Cosby Show as an extra. She was also vocal in recent years defending her father amidst sexual assault allegations that have all but ruined the famous comedian’s role as ‘America’s favorite TV dad.’
Most of the charges against Cosby have been dropped but that hasn’t stopped major universities and organizations from disassociating themselves with the beloved comedian and actor. Cosby himself has also undergone failing health problems including vision and mobility. Despite his ailments, the legend made his first public stand-up comedy appearance back in January, the first since 2015.
Many people are still team Bill Cosby including former Cosby Show actresses Keisha Knight Pulliam and Phylicia Rashad. Cosby’s wife Camille has also stood by her man amidst the allegations.
Ensa, who was one of Bill and Camille’s five children was known to be quiet and to live a private life. She had taken to the media to defend her father in 2017. Her claims of racial sabotage of her father were some of the many debates raised in light of the sexual assault allegations. Ensa even alleged that her father, the 80-year-old former actor was publically ‘lynched.’ Many people claim that Cosby’s attempts at making the purchase of major media outlets and speaking out about major political and social issues were the root of the backlash against him. In any respect, Ensa was loyal to her father and fought to preserve his image.
More than 60 women have come out recently alleging that they had been drugged and assaulted by Bill Cosby. Cosby has been to court numerous times, even having one case end in a mistrial. Cosby seems to be unlikely of having to face many of his accusors due to statue of limitation laws. Many of the accusers claim to have been assaulted by Cosby from 1965-2008. Most of the women came forward in 2014, bringing the allegations to light for the first time.
Ensa is survived by her parents and sisters Erika, Erinn, and Evin.
