Epstein Survivor Warns Melania’s Hearing Proposal Would Retraumatize Victims

An Epstein survivor has come out against First Lady Melania Trump’s statement on the need to hold Congress meetings for victims to testify on what happened to them, saying it will retraumatize them without resulting in any meaningful action.

Marina Lacerda, who in previous media engagements described herself as a victim of Jeffrey Epstein, shared her response to Melania’s statement on Instagram, doubting her intentions and questioning if anything would come out of it.

“I hope everyone’s having a wonderful day, but I had to just come in here this way to just share my thoughts on our First Lady’s speech today,” she began.

On the photos making the rounds on social media linking Melania to Epstein, Lacerda noted their origin in the Epstein files, making the allegations difficult to brush off as AI fabrication of the age.

“The Epstein files have been put away for a long time, and those pictures came from the Epstein files, so it can’t be AI because AI was not invented back then. I don’t know how they’re fake,” she explained.

The Epstein files have been kept confidential for years despite multiple attempts made to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s death. However, it seems some photos have made their way into the public sphere.

She then continued with questions relating to the proposed meetings for the survivors to testify under oath.

“We are supposed to testify in front of Congress under oath. For what? For what? Please tell us the reason why. Will it change anything? Will people be held accountable?”

She recalled other instances of similar moves by the US government that failed to yield any results, like passing the transparency law and dropping all the files.

“We had the Transparency Act passed. We had the files dropped. We’ve got names on the files. Nobody has done nothing, yet you want to retraumatize us and ask us to go in front of Congress and tell them our story, which we’ve had told some of them already. So now you want us to tell them again under oath and retraumatize us and then do absolutely nothing?” she emphasized.

“That sounds like a sh*tty idea,” Lacerda questioned her own opinion. “It sounds like you’re just trying to shift attention from something to something else. How does this benefit the Trump family?”

In the Instagram caption, Marina expressed her confusion regarding Melania’s statement. “I just watched the First Lady’s statement, and honestly, I am trying to understand what is really behind it. Why is this being brought up again? And why are we being taken back to court?” she wrote. “There are too many things that still do not make sense.”

In her statement at the White House podium, Melania Trump denied having any connections with Epstein. She called for the establishment of a congressional meeting where survivors can speak out about their experience.
