The new documents released by the US Justice Department about the case of the late financier Jeffrey Epstein mention the names of the models Gigi and Bella Hadid in a 2015 email. However, there is no evidence that either sister met, spoke with, or was approached by Epstein.

According to the documents released by the US Department of Justice, the names of the Hadid sisters appear in a December 2015 email that seems to be from Epstein. In the email, a redacted name asks how Gigi and Bella Hadid rose to prominence so quickly in their modeling career and what background information they have.

Epstein Files

Someone in the email, believed to be Epstein, calls the Hadid sisters “fresh faces,” asks about their family background, and wants to know whether it’s possible to be introduced to them while keeping it a secret. There is no evidence of the sisters’ replies to the email, nor of any further questions about the Hadid sisters.

In 2015, Gigi Hadid, then 20, had already signed with IMG Models and was working on major modeling campaigns. Her sister, Bella Hadid, was 19 and was also starting her career in the fashion industry with the same modeling agency. The Hadid sisters also came from a prominent family in Los Angeles. Their father, Mohamed Hadid, is a luxury real estate developer, and their mother, Yolanda Hadid, is a former model and television personality.

Experts say that having prominent agents, legal representation, and family supervision can help young models in the fashion industry, which many of them lack.

The documents released by the US DOJ provide no evidence that the Hadid sisters were in contact with Epstein. There is no proof that the Hadid sisters knew about the email either.
