Eva Longoria Downplays The Impact That Black Women Had On This Election

Eva Longoria receives criticism for comments during appearance on MSNBC comparing the impact of Black women in Georgia and Latina women on Joe Biden’s projected presidential victory.

Before revealing her pride and appreciation of the impact Latina women had on the 2020 presidential election, Longoria said “Of course you saw in Georgia what Black women have done but Latina women were the real heroins here.”

Eva Longoria to Ari Melber on the impact of Latina women: “That spirit and perseverance that Latinas use in their daily life, the struggle to pay their bills and the struggle to show up to their jobs … that’s the same perseverance and spirit they used to show up to the polls.”

Longoria channeling Gina Rodriguez’s anti-blackness on MSNBC is not something I was expecting to see today. Eva Longoria can try to downplay the significance of black women securing the presidency for Democrats all she wants, but black women showed up and showed out this election.

UPDATE: Eva Longoria issues an apology out to black women.
