A 79-second video snippet of a worship stream led by creator Sam Frank has sparked controversy and debate online over modern evangelist worship techniques.
Sam Frank is a 23-year-old Filipina-American who quit working at OnlyFans and now does Bible study and church worship streams. The video was taken during a three-hour-long session.
The event was criticized for its concert-like nature. Another streamer, Sneako, found the energy used by Sam Frank unbecoming of the way Jesus himself prayed. Orthodox believers considered the stream profane, as it was reminiscent of pop concerts and lacked reverence and sacrament.
Defenders of Frank appreciated the girl’s energy and cited biblical examples of worship, including the dancing of David.
