Filming has started on Dolly, an upcoming six-part mini-series by HaRiBo (Hackfort, Kropf and Konrad), the creators of Kleo.
Dolly, the working title, is made by BetaBerlin Productions GmbH and Candy Shop GmbH. Shooting will take place throughout winter.
The series is set in Berlin in 1899. Dolly Pinkus survives an attack by a serial murderer. Disappointed in the police investigation, she decides to take matters into her own hands. Together with her best friend Mieze and a young police officer, Carl, she tracks down the murderer.
The production has completed filming in Görlitz, where the town’s historic center served as Berlin in the late 1800s. They are currently shooting in Berlin and Brandenburg.
Directors Isabel Braak and Mia Spengler have joined the team. Hackfort, Kropf, and Konrad wrote the screenplay, along with Malina Nwabuonwor. Jan Wünschmann and Jörg Engels are executive producers, while Malin Krüger is the producer of the series.
The cast consists of Derya Akyol, Samirah Breuer, Sean Douglas, Max Hubacher, Merlin Rose, Béla Kampschulte, Karolina Lodyga, Andreas Lust, Maria Matschke Engel, Odine Johne and Jerry Kwarteng.
Isabel von Forster is responsible for production design. Costume design is by Gabriela Reumer. Uta Spikermann and Grit Kosse handle hair and makeup.
