In Garth Davis’ forthcoming dystopian drama, the onus of discerning between ally and adversary falls upon the capable shoulders of Paul Mescal and Saoirse Ronan.

In a setting of dystopian proportions, brimming with palpable tension, the celebrated duo of Mescal and Ronan, adorned with their prestigious Oscar nominations, gracefully embody the roles of a wedded pair grappling with the harrowing implications of a world ravaged by an environmental catastrophe.

As the desolation renders their once fertile lands inhospitable, Mescal’s character finds himself entangled in a heart-wrenching predicament, compelled to depart from his cherished abode in order to lend his expertise to a pioneering space endeavor.

Meanwhile, Ronan’s captivating portrayal unveils a woman left behind, entrusted to the tender care of others, as her husband embarks on this perilous odyssey.

Davis, a prolific writer-director, skillfully collaborated in the creation of the screenplay, drawing inspiration from Iain Reid’s esteemed literary work bearing the identical title.

Notably, Reid, the masterful wordsmith behind the gripping narrative “I’m Thinking of Ending Things,” previously partnered with the esteemed Charlie Kaufman to successfully bring it to life on the grand cinematic canvas.

Among the esteemed cast members of the Amazon Studios production are Aaron Pierce, Goran D. Kleut, and Yesse Spence.

Amazon Studios plans to release FOE in theaters in the U.S. on October 6, 2023.
