First Look At Gru Jr In ‘DESPICABLE ME 4’

Illumination’s Despicable Me franchise will captivate audiences once more with the release of “Despicable Me 4.” Following the success of 2022’s blockbuster hit “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” the latest installment promises an exhilarating mix of action and humor.

The film introduces Gru Jr., a mischievous addition to the Gru family, who brings a new dynamic to the beloved characters voiced by an ensemble cast that includes Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, and the returning Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, and Madison Polan as Margo, Edith, and Agnes.

As Gru faces a new adversary, Maxime Le Mal, voiced by Emmy winner Will Ferrell, and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina, played by Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara, the family is forced to flee. Chris Renaud, co-creator of the Minions and an Oscar nominee for his work on “Despicable Me” and “The Secret Life of Pets,” directs the film, which is produced by Illumination’s visionary founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Brett Hoffman, executive producer of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” and “Minions: The Rise of Gru.”

Co-directed by Patrick Delage, known for his animation direction in “Sing 2” and “The Secret Life of Pets 2,” and with a screenplay by Emmy-winning creator Mike White (White Lotus) and Ken Daurio, the veteran writer of every Despicable Me film, the creative team promises a seamless continuation of the franchise’s success.
