Florida Therapist Accused Of Sex With Patient At Homestead Treatment Facility

A psychotherapist may have to spend some time behind bars for having a sexual liaison with a patient who was under her care at an addiction recovery center in Homestead, according to the report.

Michelle Luchau-Rebora, 32, of Pinecrest, was taken into custody Tuesday on suspicion of having sex with a client as a psychotherapist and sexual misconduct by a psychotherapist, as per the arrest records.

As per the arrest report, the 42-year-old male was a patient at the New Hope C.O.R.P.S., an addiction and behavioral health treatment center at 1020 N. Krome Ave. Luchau-Rebora interned at the clinic and served as a mental health therapist for the patient.

According to the police, the victim stated that he was involved in a sexual liaison with Luchau-Rebora between June 2025 and September 2025. He further stated that they had been indulging in sexual acts in the course of therapy, and Luchau-Rebora helped him devise alibis so that he could escape from the treatment center and meet her, as per NBC 6 South Florida.

The encounter took place at her house in Pinecrest, her mother’s house in Key Biscayne, and at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, as mentioned in WSVN while reviewing the arrest documents.

The police said that Luchau-Rebora told the victim that he should not disclose the affair as it might affect her career as a psychotherapist, as per Local 10 News. The victim disclosed the affair to the facility after the affair came to an end and she was dismissed, the news agency reported.

Luchau-Rebora surrendered to the Homestead Police Department, and the Homestead Police Department and the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office investigated the case jointly. investigated the case jointly. Sexual misconduct by a psychotherapist is a third-degree felony in Florida, punishable with up to five years in prison.

Stephen Alvarez, the executive director of New Hope C.O.R.P.S., said in a statement that the organization reported the matter to the appropriate authorities and agencies immediately and terminated the internship.
