A confrontation between a tow truck driver and the owner of a car in Florida turned violent on Wednesday. According to the police, the incident happened after the truck driver attempted to repossess the vehicle. The incident reportedly started after the driver started connecting the car to his truck.

According to Casey Liening, a spokesperson for the Fort Lauderdale police, the incident started after the owner of the vehicle confronted the truck driver. The driver then fired his weapon after an argument broke out. The victim was identified as 38-year-old Clarence King. Police didn’t confirm why the tow truck driver felt the need to pull out his weapon to shoot King.

According to one witness, King didn’t have a gun and didn’t appear to have any shoes on. He also said that it looked like the victim had just gotten out of bed. Another witness said that King’s daughter was a few feet away from where the incident occurred. The driver reportedly started to look around and saw people coming around before he started to say that he had just killed a man.

Robert Sowell revealed he noticed some blood. “His daughter was standing by the car by herself, so I was taken aback because I hadn’t seen him move. It really hit me hard.”

The 911 call made by the tow truck driver following the incident was played by the police. “Please! Police are needed now more than ever! “He was heard shouting something to the dispatchers. “I need an ambulance now, I need an ambulance now!”

The tow truck driver is communicating with authorities to help out with their investigation but they have not indicated if they will charge him for the murder of Clarence King Jr.

King’s sister Shirnest says, “My family and I are trying to spread his story because the monster that killed him is who needs to be portrayed negatively. My brother was a gentleman and very thoughtful. Unfortunately we were raised in an environment that cultivated his mindset but that does not mean he deserved this. I am a college student that is working hard to financially take care of my family and them not have to be put in situations like this to lose their life over a car.”
