Body camera footage from a troubling juvenile case from January 5, 2023, was shared by Law and Crime Network. In Oklahoma, a 12-year-old girl was arrested after stabbing her 9-year-old brother to death.
The disturbing body camera footage shows a 12-year-old girl pleading with police for leniency while admitting her involvement in the stabbing.
The girl is overheard asking the responding officers, “Are the handcuffs necessary?” “I’m a good child.”
Investigators believe the 12-year-old killed her 9-year-old brother shortly before midnight, while their mother, April Lydia, was sleeping. The authorities have yet to reveal an official motive for the tragic crime.
The 9-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital after the incident, where he was pronounced dead at around 2:30 a.m.
At the time it marked the second homicide to occur in Tulsa this year, according to investigators working on the case, and the second sibling homicide, according to the New York Post.
Due to the widespread discussion of the suspect and the rise in juvenile crime on social media, the case has since gone viral.
