A former Henderson County High School teacher has been charged with sexual abuse, police said.
Rachel Clement, 29, was taken into custody Tuesday after being arraigned in Henderson County Circuit Court, the Henderson Police Department said.
The department had previously reported that it opened an investigation at Henderson County High School involving a staff member and a student.
Clement is listed as a science teacher at the high school on the Henderson County School District’s website. However, a district official told WFIE that Clement’s contract was not renewed and that she will no longer work for Henderson County Schools.
Clement was charged with first-degree sexual abuse; two counts of unlawful use of electronic means originating or received within the commonwealth to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities; and tampering with physical evidence.
She was booked at the Henderson County Detention Center but was released on a $10,000 bond, police said. Her next court date is listed as Oct. 12.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information can contact the Henderson Police Department Investigation Division at 270-831-1295.

I’ve made $84,000 so far this month working online and I’m a full time student. I’m using an online business opportunity I heard about and I’ve made such great money. It’s really user friendly and I’m just so happy that I found out about it. The potential with this is endless.
