In a Tweet, the former president shared a photo of his meeting with Thunberg, calling the Swedish climate activist “one of our planet’s greatest advocates.” Thunberg is in the US ahead of a global climate strike, which will see students march on September 20 to protest inaction on climate.

Greta Thunberg to Congress: ‘You’re not trying hard enough. Sorry’

“Please save your praise. We don’t want it. Don’t invite us here to just tell us how inspiring we are without actually doing anything about it because it doesn’t lead to anything.”

“If you want advice for what you should do, invite scientists, ask scientists for their expertise. We don’t want to be heard. We want the science to be heard.”

Greta speaks truth to power like no one else. If only everyone in power could be as brave and honest.

Global Climate Strike 20-27th of September:

4638 events in 139 countries on all continents.

And counting…

Everyone is welcome.

Everyone is needed.
