Future’s latest album, The Real Me, kicks off at number one on the Billboard 200 with 131,000 units sold. This makes it Future’s 12th time at number one on the Billboard charts after his multiple Grammy wins.
Being his tenth solo studio album, The Real Me represents Future’s more personal side, stripping away the facade to reveal the man behind the artist. The album represents Future’s most personal and daring work ever.
The Real Me comes right after the platinum-certified album Mixtape Pluto, which also debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
In the build-up to the album’s release, Future has engaged in an epic promotional campaign across Atlanta, his hometown. Future has transformed the city of Atlanta into his own kingdom by reconfiguring its streets, sites, and skyline to reflect his signature purple and the Freebandz logo.
The highlight of the promotion is Future projecting a 12-mile-long purple laser light beam from atop the Magic City nightclub into Atlanta’s skyline.
As recently as last week, Future dropped cinematic videos for two songs, titled “Fukk A Interview” and “Konnichiwa”.
