Georgia Couple Arrested on Child Sex Trafficking Charges After Tip Leads to Multistate Investigation

Two Georgia residents are now charged with the offenses of trafficking, rape, and aggravated sodomy following an investigation into potential crimes committed against a child.

David Rutherford, 60, and Heather Rutherford, 43, of Flintstone, have been arrested without incident. Authorities state that the investigation was started on May 15th when law enforcement received a tip about potential abuse of a child.

Law enforcement issued warrants for the arrest of both individuals and searched a house on Nancy Lane in Flintstone on May 22nd. At this point, both subjects were already in custody in Tennessee.

The investigation is ongoing.
