Crunchyroll, the leading streaming platform for Japanese anime, has just announced the nominees for the eighth annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards. This prestigious event is the largest dedicated awards program that recognizes the craft and artistry of Japanese animation. The award recognizes creators, musicians, and performances on both streaming and theatrical platforms. As the live ceremony on March 2, 2024 approaches, anime fans around the world can now actively participate by voting in various categories.
The Anime Awards website now displays the entire list of nominees, providing fans with a comprehensive overview of the outstanding contributions to the anime industry. What distinguishes this event is its emphasis on recognizing not only the captivating storytelling, but also the musical brilliance and incredible performances that bring these animated worlds to life.
One notable addition to this year’s Anime Awards is the star-studded lineup of presenters. From three-time GRAMMY-winning recording artist Megan Thee Stallion to award-winning actress Iman Vellani, the list spans across diverse fields. Japanese singer-songwriter LiSA, renowned nightclub host Roland, and American fashion model and drag entertainer Aquaria add an eclectic mix to the ensemble. The inclusion of individuals like British rapper Che Lingo, anime-focused content creator Lena Lemon, and global icon Yaeji further emphasizes the celebration’s international flavor.
Kenichiro Yoshida, Chairman and CEO of Sony Group Corporation will return to deliver opening remarks at the Anime Awards live ceremony, which will be hosted by voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira.

To honor this year’s nominees, Crunchyroll will make a selection of nominated series available on AVOD (ad-supported video on demand) beginning today. This allows fans to explore the honorees until March 2, when they can stream titles for free with advertisements. The availability is global, subject to regional constraints.
The Anime Awards voting period will end on January 27 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Fans are encouraged to vote every day, aided by the convenience of one-click voting, as they root for their favorite nominees. The winners will be announced during the live ceremony on March 2, promising an exciting conclusion to this celebration of anime excellence.
Sony Music Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc., will play an important role in assisting Crunchyroll with the Anime Awards. Their collaboration demonstrates the event’s widespread recognition and significance.
