A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS, a drama series, has received a series order from HBO: The exclusive announcement of THE HEDGE KNIGHT took place today at Warner Bros. Discovery’s launch of the Max streaming service on the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles. George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker will write and produce the “Game of Thrones” prequel series. Vince Gerardis and Ryan Condal will also serve as executive producers.

Ser Duncan the Tall, a young, naive, but brave knight, and Egg, his diminutive squire, were two unlikely heroes who roamed Westeros a century prior to the events of “Game of Thrones.” Set during a time when the Targaryen line actually holds the Iron High position and the memory of the last winged serpent has not yet passed from living memory, incredible predeterminations, strong enemies, and perilous endeavors all anticipate these impossible and exceptional companions.

George R.R. Martin will act as essayist/chief maker, Ira Parker will act as author/leader maker. Vince Gerardis and Ryan Condal will serve as executive producers.
