HBO has provided eager fans with a glimpse into the highly anticipated second season of the original drama series “House of the Dragon” during its CCXP23 panel in São Paulo, Brazil. Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” delves into the rich history of House Targaryen.
Returning for the second season are familiar faces, including Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. The cast also welcomes back Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.
Joining the ensemble are new cast members, including Clinton Liberty, Jamie Kenna, Kieran Bew, Tom Bennett, Tom Taylor, and Vincent Regan, portraying characters that promise to add depth to the intricate storyline. The previously announced cast for season two features Abubakar Salim, Gayle Rankin, Freddie Fox, and Simon Russell Beale.
Co-created and executive-produced by George R.R. Martin, with Ryan Condal serving as co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer, the second season of “House of the Dragon” is set to premiere in the summer of 2024 on HBO and will be available for streaming on Max.
