Netflix’s upcoming Brazilian series for kids and families, “Luz,” promises an enthralling adventure as Luz embarks on a quest to uncover her origins. Set to premiere in February, the official teaser and exclusive photos provide a sneak peek into the captivating narrative that awaits viewers.

Led by the charismatic Marianna Santos in the role of protagonist Luz, the teaser introduces a dynamic ensemble of characters from Prex school, forming a resilient group ready to support Luz on her quest. The series not only explores the school environment but also delves into Luz’s Indigenous community roots, creating a rich and diverse backdrop for the unfolding story.

The plot revolves around Luz, an orphan raised in the Kaingang community, who senses a hidden truth about her past as she approaches her ninth birthday. Fueled by curiosity, Luz escapes to a boarding school where she, along with newfound friends, embarks on a journey to unravel the mysteries surrounding her true identity.

The stellar cast, featuring names like Celso Frateschi, Claudia di Moura, Daniel Rocha, Marcos Pasquim, Gabriela Moreyra, and Mel Lisboa, ensures a compelling portrayal of the characters. Produced by Floresta and conceived by Guillermo Pendino, “Luz” boasts Thiago Teitelroit as the general director, with episode directors Giovanna Machline and Rogério Sagui. LUZ (Marianna Santos): is curious, determined, and extremely brave. She is a granddaughter rejected and persecuted by her grandfather, Carlos. She is very proud of her Kaingang upbringing but longs to meet her biological family. She finds refuge and new friends at the Prex school.

CARLOS FERREIRA (Celso Frateschi): Luz's grandfather. A rich and mean ranch owner. He has a tense relationship with the Kaingang. BALTAZAR (Marcos Pasquim): works on the ranch and is the righthand man of Luz's grandfather, Carlos. He finds himself on his boss's bad side for being fair and loyal to the young girl. VALÉRIA (Mel Lisboa): is also an employee at Carlos Ferreira's ranch. She becomes the rancher's most trusted person and her loyalty to Carlos is tested. GA (Claudia Di Moura): is the leader of the Indigenous community and a Kaingang shaman. She adopts Luz and becomes her main caregiver and protector.
