Grammy-Winning Artist Kali Uchis Blossoms with the Release of Spanish-Language Masterpiece ‘Orquídeas’

Grammy-winning artist Kali Uchis has just released her highly anticipated Spanish-language album, “Orquídeas,” today. The album draws inspiration from Colombia’s national flower, the orchid, symbolizing love and fertility. Kali shares her fascination with the orchid’s timeless allure and aims to redefine perceptions of Latinas in music through this project.

“Orquídeas” is Kali’s second Spanish-language album and her fourth LP overall. It boasts collaborations with prominent figures in Latin music, such as the global single “Muñekita” featuring El Alfa and JT from City Girls, “Te Mata,” Kali’s top Latin single debut, and “Labios Mordidos” with Colombian singer Karol G. The album also features collaborations with Peso Pluma and Rauw Alejandro, showcasing a diverse range of musical influences.

Kali’s previous album, “Red Moon In Venus,” received widespread critical acclaim and was named TIME Magazine’s #1 album of 2023. The album was a watershed moment for Kali, as it earned her first Top 10 charting album and a spot on numerous “Best of 2023” lists from respected publications. Following the success of the album, Kali embarked on a sold-out two-part headlining tour, which included a mainstage appearance at Coachella and appearances at international festivals such as Lollapalooza in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.

Kali Uchis, a versatile artist who seamlessly switches between English and Spanish-language projects, has received Grammy, Billboard Latin Music, Billboard Music, American Music, Premios Nuestra Tierra, and Univision Premios Juventud awards. Her career has included critically acclaimed releases such as the breakout 2015 mixtape “Por Vida,” the critically acclaimed 2018 debut album “Isolation,” and the Grammy-nominated 2020 album “Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios),” which featured the chart-topping hit “telepata.”

The tracklist for “Orqudeas” reveals a rich and diverse musical landscape, with titles such as “Cómo As?,” “Me Pongo Loca,” and “Igual Que un ngel.” The album promises a blend of Kali’s distinct style and the influence of her collaborators, resulting in a captivating listening experience.

In addition to the album’s release, Kali surprised fans by announcing her first pregnancy with longtime partner Don Toliver. The announcement was made via a child-directed video for the song “Tu Corazón es Mo,” adding a personal touch to the album’s release.
