How Karina Laino Gomes Went From Flaunting on Social Media To Behind Bars

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of committing a series of armed bank robberies with her boyfriend in the style of Bonnie and Clyde.

According to the New York Post, police arrested Karina Laino Gomes and her boyfriend, Edmilson Souza da Silva, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, last week for allegedly robbing customers making deposits at banks throughout the city. The pair were apprehended following an increase in similar robberies in the city in recent months.

CCTV footage quickly revealed what role the pair, who have no prior convictions, would play in the numerous robberies, according to police. Karina was tasked with standing nearby so as not to raise suspicions with the robbery victims.

The pair reportedly admitted to carrying out the scheme after being arrested, but they will remain in custody until the full investigation is completed. The couple allegedly named four accomplices, who are now being sought by cops.

Karina Laino Gomes could be seen flaunting her “glamorous” lifestyle on many social media platforms prior to her arrest last week.
