Hulu Releases Official Trailer For The Artful Dodger

Hulu has released the official trailer for the upcoming Australian Original series “The Artful Dodger,” which explores the adult double life of Charles Dickens’ famous prince of thieves, aka The Artful Dodger. All eight episodes of season one, starring Thomas Brodie-Sangster, David Thewlis, and Maia Mitchell, premiere on Hulu on Wednesday, November 29th.

What’s The Artful Dodger?

“The Artful Dodger” explores the adult double life of Charles Dickens’ famous prince of thieves, Jack Dawkins aka The Artful Dodger, whose fast pickpocketing fingers have turned into the skilled hands of a surgeon.

Set in 1850s Australia, in the lively colony of Port Victory, Dodger’s past returns to haunt him with the arrival of Fagin, luring him back into a world of crime. A greater threat – to Dodger’s heart – is Lady Belle, the Governor’s daughter, determined to become the colony’s first female surgeon.

From heists to life-and-death surgeries to the harsh realities of the criminal world mingling with the middle ground and gentry, this is a tale of reinvention, betrayal, redemption, and love with a twist.

What to expect from the first four episodes of The Artful Dodger?

Episode 101 – “The Yankee Dodge”
Logline: With a huge gambling debt, coinciding with the return of Fagin, Dodger agrees to a final sting.

Episode 102 – “Blessings of St. Coccyx”
Logline: Trying to steal 500 sovereigns, Dodger and Fagin witness Darius in a compromising position.

Episode 103 – “Dead Men’s Secrets”
Logline: With Gaines planning their demise, the pressure is on Dodger and Fagin to find the missing money.

Episode 104 – “The Stitch Up”
Logline: Fagin serves up Gaines’ wife and Darius. Sneed attacks Dodger at the Governor’s dinner.

The eight-episode series stars Thomas Brodie-Sangster, as Jack Dawkins aka The Artful Dodger; David Thewlis as Fagin; and Maia Mitchell as Lady Belle Fox. An all-star Australian lineup of talent completes the cast, featuring Damon Herriman, Tim Minchin, Miranda Tapsell, Susie Porter, Damien Garvey, Kym Gyngell, Vivienne Awosoga, and New Zealand talent Albert Latailakepa, and more

“The Artful Dodger” is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television’s Curio Pictures and produced by Beach Road Pictures.
