Iman Khawane, 31, Identified as Victim in Toronto Apartment Shooting, Suspect in Custody

A woman aged 31 died after being shot with a firearm in Toronto. A male suspect is facing second-degree murder charges for the murder, according to the Toronto Police Service.

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, around 9:30 am, Toronto police responded to a shooting call near Jarvis Street and Dundas Street East.

Police discovered that the victim had been shot and was in the apartment. She was pronounced dead in the hospital despite the efforts by paramedics to save her life.

Iman Khawane, aged 31, of Toronto, was named as the victim. The police released a photograph of her.

The police stated that the two had known each other. This was the 16th homicide of 2026 in Toronto.

Jaden Riley, aged 25, from New Tecumseth, has been charged with second-degree murder. His next appearance in court was scheduled for Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 10 am, at Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, room 106.
