Influencer Says Sydney Sweeney’s Novig Ad Is “Genius,” but She Has One Big Problem With It

An influencer claiming to earn over $1 million monthly applauded Sydney Sweeney’s near-nude promotional effort for the sports prediction site Novig as a great example of marketing. Yet, she is worried about the exploitation of women’s sex appeal to encourage males to place bets.

Skylar Mae, a 23-year-old woman, says that Sweeney and her team understand their target audience very well and did a fantastic job on the campaign.

“Sydney Sweeney knows exactly what she is doing. She is the Pamela Anderson of the 2020s,” Skylar says. “She and her team understand what they are doing, and they are killing it. She looked absolutely amazing. I was personally drawn to this commercial.”

In Skylar’s opinion, sex and sports make a perfect match, and betting adds the third element.

“Men love women, and men love sports, so there is nothing wrong with combining the two. Then you add sports betting, and it’s like three of the most popular things combined into one ad. Whoever hired Sydney for this is definitely going to be making a lot of money,” she says.

Her problem is that, in her view, the campaign’s purpose goes beyond simply selling something.

“The only thing I don’t like is the use of women and sex appeal to attract men to bet, since many people suffer from gambling addiction. If it were just an attractive sports campaign, then I would’ve approved of it 100%. The marketing strategy is brilliant; I am just questioning the purpose of it,” Skylar says.

She also points out that mainstream companies use the same methods adult creators have used for years and that, in her opinion, these people should be called marketing experts.

“Adult creators are marketing experts. Just look at how much money OnlyFans is earning annually or how much top creators are earning. Clearly, sex appeal is something that people crave. We know how to draw people’s attention, but more importantly, how to convert it into money,” Skylar says.

The woman, who lives in the United States, got into adult work in college to support her family. She sends them $20,000 monthly. Now she is earning over $1 million a month and spends her free time studying stocks and day trading.
