Influencer Says The Advice Your Boyfriend Gives You Is Actually A Marriage Sign: “He Wants You To Be His Wife”

A 43-second video has revived an old question about the motive behind a partner’s advice.

In the video, which went viral on TikTok and was shot by social media influencer Ece Demirci in a selfie in her car, she discusses an important aspect of relationships: women often see their partners’ mentoring role as an attempt to influence them. Demirci claims that this is rarely the case. Mentoring, supporting a partner’s personal growth, and focusing on her future mean a man is interested in the long-term relationship and even in marriage.

“If your man starts to act like a mentor and starts giving you advice, trust me, he wants you to be his wife,” Demirci said. “Because a man who sees a future with you doesn’t focus on how you are today, on how you look today. He will care about who you are becoming tomorrow and the potential he sees in you.”

She continues by explaining the specifics of support.

“I will encourage you to grow, to think bigger, to be better, protect your peace, care deeply about who you are, and help you with who you want to become so you can be proud of yourself,” Demirci explains.

However, Demirci notes that mentoring should be clearly distinguished from an attempt to recreate one’s image.

“But he’s not trying to change you,” Demirci said. “He’s there to pour into you and see you win. The right man doesn’t just love who you are today. The right man loves who you can become in his life.”
