A 34-year-old singer from Van Nuys, Racquelle Dolores Anteola, known by her stage name Rahky, and her 36-year-old fitness influencer friend, Melissa Dufour of Miramar, Florida, may be sentenced to life in federal prison after reportedly planning to plead guilty to charges related to trafficking over 200 pounds of cocaine through Alabama.
The arrest unfolded in June when the duo was pulled over by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office while driving a modified Ford Expedition with Texas dealer plates from Houston to Atlanta on Interstate 10 in Mobile County, Alabama. Local newspaper Lagniappe reported that the SUV contained aftermarket compartments, with a modified floor to create additional hidden storage for the illicit substances.
Anteola, known for her singing career, and Dufour, founder of the clothing brand Sexy Sweats, are now facing federal charges for the substantial amount of cocaine found in these concealed compartments.
As per the Lagniappe report, the attorneys representing the women informed the judge on Tuesday that their clients plan to plead guilty to the charges next week. If convicted, Anteola and Dufour could be subjected to severe penalties, including 10 years to life in prison and fines of up to $10 million.
The indictment suggests that the women had been engaged in drug trafficking activities since at least November 2022, painting a timeline of their involvement in the illicit trade. The case has garnered attention, shedding light on the unexpected legal troubles faced by individuals known for their public profiles in the entertainment and fitness industries.
As the legal proceedings unfold, many will be closely monitoring the fate of Rahky and Dufour, awaiting further details about the charges and the potential impact on their lives and careers.
