DC Studios just confirmed Isabela Merced’s return as Kendra Saunders a.k.a. Hawkgirl in Man of Tomorrow, which opens on July 9, 2027.
This film continues where Superman left off, which is the first film in DC Studios’ new cinematic universe, which James Gunn is spearheading. Isabela Merced first appeared in this film, which also starred David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
This also solidifies Hawkgirl’s place as a key character moving forward, especially since she made a bold move in Superman. Fans have been talking about Hawkgirl’s big kill and what this could mean for larger cosmic and mythological threats facing the DC Universe.
Details about Man of Tomorrow are still being kept under wraps, but DC Studios hinted that this film could expand on the franchise outside Metropolis, integrating elements from Superman.
Aside from her work on DC, Isabela Merced also has a lot on her plate, including House of the Dead and The Last of Us Season 3, which will feature her, making her one of the most sought-after young stars in Tinseltown.
This film is still in development, and more casting and story details will be revealed as production gets closer.
