A 4-year-old boy lost his life during swimming lessons. The little boy has been identified as Israel Spencer Scott and it appears his parents still don’t know how this happened to their boy.
Dori Scott, the mother of Israel Spencer Scott took to Facebook to address some questions about her son’s tragic death. She asked why was he missing for so long, why didn’t the swim instructor not administer CPR, and why was swim instructor’s friend incite racist statements.
Lexie Currington TenHuisen is the swim instructor who was giving swim lessons to Israel Spencer Scott. Swim Lessons with Lexie has deleted its Facebook page.
A Facebook user Lizzie Moats took up for Lexie and victim-blamed Scott’s mother.

In Lizzie Moats’ Facebook post comments section, a woman named Jessica Hill Fearneyhough commented that said, “SMH. I’d definitely pick and choose each and every child I taught in the future. No more Tyrone’s.”

After receiving massive backlash, Jessica Hill Fearneyhough has deleted their Facebook page and Lizzie turned her page private.

One thing about these white folks, they are going to stick together even when they are wrong. This was negligence and this child should’ve been watched. This instructor dropped the ball on so many levels but all her friends looking at the things she’s done. Like, going to Africa and teaching so many other people how to swim. I get that but the focus isn’t on that. We need to know how this baby drowned in the care of a swim instructor. His parents deserve that much . We don’t care about what she’s done in the past because her actions now doesn’t add up and it’s giving very much guilty. This woman should’ve apologized and been open to talk to the parents but instead she left and just gave a little cash back . If roles were reversed and this was a little white child that drowned in the care of a black instructor things would be a lot different.
These lessons were conducted at this woman’s home. I would not leave my son alone at his first lesson in swimming. I need to know how you are conducting your swimming lessons even if it was at a recreational center. Her house? My four year old? Hell to the naw!!! I would have watched their asses like a hawk!!!!

I have known Lexie Tenhuisen for over 40 years. She has dedicated her life to helping people of all ethnicities and she does it with faith and love! She traveled to Africa to help bring clean drinking water to Kenyan families. As an ordained minister, she took women of all ethnicities into her home after they were released from prison. She wanted them ALL, as God’s children, to be able to transition from prison life to a happy home life. This was a very tragic accident and I know that if Lexie could bring this little boy back, she would do it.

The child’s mother left him in Lexie’s care at her residence. Lexie was giving lessons in her home pool. She must have trusted Lexie to leave Izzy with her for lessons. Lexie could have been the sweetest person on the planet and trained hundreds of people including my mother and me. But I would like to witness my child’s swimming lesson since he was only four years old. You did not have to add her work in Africa though. The mother must have trusted Lexie with Izzy and to have such a tragic outcome is sad. Lexie’s counsel I am sure is silencing her at this point. I hope this is the first and last time her training has resulted in death or injury. My prayers go out to Izzy’s family.
