Jay-Z and Will Smith have come together again for another Emmett Till project, this time as a part of a new anthology series that chronicles the civil-rights movement “as told by the women behind it,” entitled ‘Women of the Movement’ on ABC.

The story of Mamie Till-Mobley will be the focus of the first season, as recently announced by the network. Till-Mobley is the mother of #EmmettTill, a teenager who was lynched to death by a white mob in Mississippi in 1955 after being accused of whistling at a white woman while in a grocery store.

Following her son’s death, Till-Mobley became a major face in the civil-rights movement and dedicated her life to seeking justice for her son until her own passing in 2003.

According to Vulture, Jay and Will were previously working on an Emmett Till series with HBO, which was shelved by the network until ABC picked it back up with ‘Women of the Movement’ becoming its final iteration. The eight-episode series is loosely based on Devery S. Anderson’s book ‘Emmett Till: The Murder That Shocked the World and Propelled the Civil Rights Movement.’
