26-year-old Marvin Scott III was arrested over possession of less than two ounces of marijuana in Texas.
The Collin County Sheriff Office revealed in a statement that Marvin D. Scott III died while in custody at the Collin County Detention Facility.
The family lawyer Lee Merrit says, he “suffered from mental health challenges” and “took him to jail and battered him anyway.”
Seven detention employees on administrative leave and ordered an internal administrative investigation.
