Kali Uchis Closes Hinterland in “F*ck ICE” Corset: “I Don’t Know If You Saw My Shirt”

Kali Uchis ended the Hinterland Music Festival on Sunday night in a white corset top with a powerful message directed to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The singer, whose birth name is Karly Marina Loaiza, performed the headline act on the final day of the four-day music festival at the Avenue of the Saints Amphitheater in St. Charles, 30 minutes south of Des Moines. Videos on the Internet show the artist performing in a corset top with the phrase “F— ICE” written on it and pink shorts.

In a video that is just 18 seconds long, Uchis can be seen singing into a microphone, putting one hand on her chest and pointing at the audience while turning to the stage.

“And I hope you guys feel inspired when you’re being here,” the singer says in the video. “And, um, I don’t know if you saw my shirt. It says F— off.”

The reaction on the Internet was rapid and divided. While some people appreciated the singer for making a political statement at a headlining performance, others called the message inappropriate for a music festival with a general audience.

Are you against or do you support ICE? And Why?
