Kara Royster is an American actress who is best known for her roles in ABC’s People’s Choice Award-winning series Pretty Little Liars and Disney Channel’s Emmy award-winning show K.C. Undercover.
Florida-raised Royster developed an appreciation for acting in her youth. She attended the acclaimed Los Angeles County High School for the Arts majoring in Theatre, where she honed her craft. Royster’s first year in the industry proved a huge success, with the actress being cast in Fred: The Show, YouTube superstar Lucas Cruikshank’s Nickelodeon series, the Samuel L. Jackson-led political short Wake the Fuck Up, and as Remi in Nick at Nite’s family drama Hollywood Heights.
A dynamic and charming talent, Royster’s name soon became a mainstay in mainstream television, with appearances as Jessie in Nickelodeon’s Bucket and Skinner’s Epic Adventures, Kayla in Fox’s The Goodwin Games, Kiley in CBS’ The Mentalist, Kennedy in Disney’s Liv and Maddie, and Olga in Amazon Prime’s Hand of God.
Over the next few years, Royster stepped further into the spotlight, starring as Brandi in MTV’s Faking it, and landing her big breaks as Abby Martin in K.C. Undercover and Yvonne Phillips in the long-running Pretty Little Liars. Roles as Alicia Banes in Supernatural, Dawn in The Fosters, Jayne in Youth & Consequences and Emily in God Friended Me soon followed. Royster’s movie credits include Christina in Mono, Nikki Leeds in Secrets at the Lake, Taylor in Most Likely to Murder, Sasha Curtis in InstaFame and Ashley in Secrets in the Air.
We had the opportunity to talk Royster about joining CW’s ‘Dynasty’ and her upcoming Netflix show Jupiter’s Legacy. Royster will portray as Janna Croft/Ghostbeam on Netflix’s Jupiter’s Legacy. She also spoke on working on a few films during quarantine.
