Kendrick Lamar’s GNX Targets No. 1 Debut on Billboard 200 with 310-325K Units

Kendrick Lamar’s album GNX is headed for a blockbuster opening on the Billboard 200, now projected to land at No. 1 with an expected 310,000-325,000 units earned in its first week, according to HITS Daily Double. If achieved, this would be Lamar’s fifth straight No. 1 album and the sixth-biggest bow of 2024.

This album performed greatly on Spotify as well, collecting 324.15 million streams within its first six days. Comprised of just 12 tracks, GNX topped off the global charts in a matter of time on Spotify and etched a new standard among rap albums of the decade for sixth-day streams.

  • 1st Day: 44,307,132 streams (in just seven hours)
  • 2nd Day: 74,966,290 streams
  • 3rd Day: 51,977,143 streams
  • 4th Day: 55,963,898 streams
  • 5th Day: 50,140,090 streams
  • 6th Day: 46,795,341 streams

A Record-Breaking Sixth Day

In its sixth week, GNX drew 46.04 million global Spotify streams, beating out projects with more songs, including Travis Scott’s UTOPIA (45.20M) and Drake’s Certified Lover Boy (42.58M).
