Hold on to your lawn chairs, Arlen! The Hills are back, baby, and they’re bringing propane-fueled joy with them.
In a move that will make any 90s kid scream with cartoon-loving glee, Hulu officially announced today that the highly anticipated King of the Hill revival will premiere on Monday, August 4, 2025 with a sizzling hot batch of 10 brand-new episodes. That’s right. Dust off your lawnmowers and grab a cold Alamo beer. Season 14 is almost here.
And guess what? Hulu has dropped a first look clip of the all-new show opening, and yes, it’s everything. Think nostalgia with a spicy 2025 twist and we are living for it.
Bobby’s in the Kitchen, Hank’s Back on the Block, and Peggy’s Ready to Judge Your Grammar Again
The last time we saw the Hill family, George W. Bush was in office and TikTok wasn’t even a twinkle in Gen Z’s eye. Now the gang’s back in our lives, but things in Arlen, Texas have changed. Like “Peggy’s on Nextdoor arguing about zoning laws” changed.
In the Season 14 premiere, viewers will catch up with Hank and Peggy Hill, who’ve just returned to Arlen after years working in Saudi Arabia (yes, Hank was out there selling propane to the Middle East, peak hustle energy). Now retiredand maybe a little confused by the new world order, they’re coming home to a town that’s moved on without them. But don’t worry. Hank still has thoughts on proper lawn edging, and Peggy still has opinions. So many opinions.
Meanwhile, our baby boy Bobby Hill is all grown up at 21 years old, living out his millennial dreams as a chef in Dallas. That’s right. Chef Bobby Hill. He’s slaying the food scene, dating, vibing, and honestly being the confident, creative king we always knew he’d become. His old pals Connie, Joseph, and Chane are back too, navigating adulthood like every twenty-something with optimism, chaos, and at least one failed kombucha business.
A Quick Refresher: What Made King of the Hill a Cultural Classic?
First airing in 1997 and running for a jaw-dropping 13 seasons and over 250 episodes, King of the Hill became one of the most quietly revolutionary adult animated shows of its time. Created by Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head, Office Space) and Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation), it delivered comedy that was deeply Texan, oddly touching, and quietly savage.
Set in the fictional suburban town of Arlen, Texas, the show followed everyman Hank Hill, his ambitious wife Peggy, and their quirky, lovable son Bobby, alongside a neighborhood ensemble of truly unforgettable weirdos: conspiracy theorist Dale Gribble, heartbreak king Bill Dauterive, lady-killer mumbler Boomhauer, and fierce, no-nonsense Minh and Nancy. It was real, it was weird, and it was always heartfelt.
Who’s Back for Season 14? Spoiler: Everyone Who Matters
You can breathe easy, fans. The core cast is back and better than ever:
- Mike Judge as Hank Hill (and Boomhauer, because yes, he still got it)
- Kathy Najimy as Peggy Hill (iconic, unstoppable, spell-checking)
- Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill (truly giving main character energy)
- Johnny Hardwick as Dale Gribble (in his final voice recordings before his passing, a loving tribute is planned)
- Stephen Root as Bill Dauterive (heartbreak and heart of gold)
- Lauren Tom as Minh (still the queen of HOA battles)
- Toby Huss as Kahn and Cotton Hill (chaotic as ever)
Behind the scenes, original co-creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels are joined by new showrunner Saladin Patterson(The Wonder Years, Dave), bringing a fresh voice to the revival while keeping it rooted in the original’s dry, ironic humor. Executive producers Michael Rotenberg, Howard Klein, and Dustin Davis round out the dream team.
And yes. All 13 original seasons are streaming now on Hulu, in case you need a refresher course on propane and its many, many uses.
A Revival That Doesn’t Suck? Believe It
Look, we’ve all been burned by revivals that promised the moon and delivered reheated nostalgia casserole. But if this teaser clip is any indication, King of the Hill Season 14 is not here to play it safe.
The updated animation? Sharp but faithful.
The writing? Witty with modern relevance without losing its Texan soul.
The vibe? Pure Arlen with TikTok jokes.
The pacing? Tight like Hank’s lawn edging.
It’s a series that remembers its roots and knows how to make fun of the fact that Dale Gribble probably has an NFT.
It’s Goin’ Down in Arlen on August 4th
This is strictly for fans who love propane and propane accessories. The King of the Hill revival hits Hulu on Monday, August 4, 2025, with ten brand-new episodes.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or a new viewer about to meet Hank Hill for the first time, one thing’s for sure. There’s never been a better time to head back to Arlen, Texas. So grab a folding chair, crank up that lawnmower, and pour one out for America’s favorite propane family.
“That boy ain’t right, but this show is.” Probably someone on Reddit right now.
