Los Angeles model and social media influencer awaiting trial on six felony counts in what prosecutors allege is a dating app burglary scam has been arrested once again.
Adva Lavie, 28, who is also known online as Mia Ventura, was apprehended in Beverly Hills just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on a Riverside County theft charge, NBC Los Angeles reports. At that time, she was violating a court order, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Lavie was expected to appear in court on Thursday, according to NBC Los Angeles. It is unknown whether new charges will be filed against her at this time.
This comes as the latest turn of events in a case which has gained attention in Southern California in recent months.
On March 23, a judge found that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial with charges of two counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information, two counts of grand theft, one count of first-degree residential burglary with a person present, and one count of first-degree residential burglary, all of which are felonies, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Lavie has entered a not-guilty plea.
According to prosecutors, Lavie has used dating apps to cultivate relationships with wealthy older men and younger women between 2023 and 2025 in Westlake Village, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and Beverly Hills, pretending to be a girlfriend and travel companion to enter their home and steal cash, gold, and luxury designer goods.
In a statement after the March ruling, District Attorney Nathan Hochman noted that evidence would now be presented to a jury and his office would ensure accountability for those who employ “deception and manipulation to prey on others,” according to the district attorney’s office.
Lavie is out of custody with an electronic ankle monitor and must stay away from the specified victims, according to prosecutors. If convicted of all the counts, she may face up to 11 years and eight months in state prison.
Previously, the terms of her monitoring have created problems. At a hearing in June, it was decided not to incarcerate Lavie after she had twice violated the terms of monitoring (including crossing the county line). Instead, the judge issued a warning and revised the order to prohibit contact with witnesses, the California Post reports.
The allegations go far beyond the borders of Los Angeles County, as police reports were filed in Nevada, Florida, France, and Italy, ABC7 reports. Detectives describe Lavie as a model who has appeared in Playboy and Penthouse, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The fiancé also became involved in the case. Stephen Cloobeck, 64, the real estate billionaire and candidate for California governor, voluntarily surrendered at the West Hollywood sheriff’s station on May 12, facing charges of attempts to dissuade witnesses in Lavie’s case.
He paid $300,000 bail and was released, according to Fox 11 Los Angeles. His lawyer, Elias Dabaie, stated in a press release that “these charges are false and we look forward to our day in court,” according to Nevada News and Views.
The preliminary investigation was carried out by the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, according to the district attorney’s office.
