Screenwriter Lena Waithe is separating from wife Alana Mayo just months after announcing their marriage, according to People Magazine.
The pair have been together for three years.
Emmy Award-winning writer, producer, and actress Lena Waithe and her longtime girlfriend Alana Mayo shared just two months ago that they’d secretly married.
“After careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways,” a joint statement from their reps read. “We have nothing but support for one another and ask that you respect our privacy during this time.”
Well now! This is a very interesting and somewhat shocking turn of events. At least that what it seems like from the outside. However, sources are saying that the couple’s relationship was on the ropes even before they tied the knot.
Love B Scott reported that Lena Waithe was cheating on Alana before they got married. They actually used the wedding to try to salvage their relationship. That didn’t work because it was also reported that Lena was still cheating and buying designer gifts for other women.
