Lexis Star looks up to the biggest stars of podcasting, yet she doesn’t exclude herself when comparing the numbers.
During an interview with Where Is The Buzz, the host of The Lexis Star Show revealed how she improves, who she’d like to invite as guests, her readiness to sit next to the person with a different view on her way of earning money, and why politics is not part of her show’s plans.
Asked whether she compares herself to big stars like Call Her Daddy or The Joe Rogan Experience, Star admitted that she uses them as an example and not as a scorecard.
“Of course I look at shows like Call Her Daddy and The Joe Rogan Experience,” Star said. They’ve built incredible brands, and there’s a lot to learn from what they’ve done. But I don’t really measure my success against theirs because we’re all building something different. I try to focus more on making each episode better than the last and growing my audience in my own way.”
An exclusive platform deal, which became a revolution in the podcasting industry thanks to Spotify and SiriusXM, seems to be something that she’d consider only on her terms.
“As for an exclusive deal, I’m definitely open to opportunities if they make sense, but I also really value owning my platform. That’s one of the reasons I built my own website. I like knowing that I have a direct connection with my audience and that I’m not relying on just one platform. So it would have to be the right partnership, not just an exclusive deal for the sake of it,” she said.
If four guests could come without any restrictions, Star chose a comedian, a veteran of the adult industry, a podcaster, and a billionaire.
“I’d love to have Kevin Hart on the podcast. He’s one of the funniest entertainers in the world, but beyond the comedy, he’s built an incredible career through hard work, resilience, and entrepreneurship. I think we’d have a genuinely fun conversation filled with laughs, while also diving into the mindset that’s helped him achieve so much success,” she said.
Another guest Star would like to have is a famous personality from the adult industry.
“J-Mac is another guest I’d love to have because he’s an OG in the adult industry. I’d want to talk about how the business has changed over the years, what he’s learned from being in it for so long, and hear some of the stories that most people have never heard,” Star said.
A comedian and podcaster, Theo Von, was invited as the third guest due to his interviewing skills and natural humor.
“Theo Von would be a lot of fun because he’s naturally funny and seems like someone who can have a conversation with absolutely anyone. I’d love to pick his brain about podcasting, comedy, and how he gets people to open up so easily. I also think we’d probably spend half the interview laughing,” she said.
Elon Musk is the fourth name on the list.
“I’d also love to interview Elon Musk. I’d be curious to know how his mind works, how he decides which ideas are worth chasing, and how he deals with constant criticism while continuing to build new companies,” Star said.
Miami is becoming a center for interview podcasts, and Star would welcome Fresh & Fit host Myron Gaines on her show despite his criticism of the adult content industry.
“Yeah, I would. I actually agree with him on a lot of things, even though we definitely don’t see eye to eye on adult content. I know he’s been pretty vocal about thinking it’s harmful, and obviously I make my living in that industry, so we have different perspectives,” she said.
She said that she wouldn’t try to prove anything and change anybody’s opinion.
“That said, I think those are the most interesting conversations to have. I wouldn’t invite him on to try to change his mind, and I wouldn’t expect him to change mine either. I’d just want to have an honest conversation where we could explain why we each see things the way we do. I think people can disagree, respect each other, and still have a great discussion,” Star said.
One of the guests that Star has already interviewed can become a permanent co-host for her.
“If I had to choose a permanent co-host from the guests I’ve already interviewed, I’d pick Merwan Benamor. He’s quick-witted, easy to talk to, and knows how to keep a conversation engaging without taking it over. I think our personalities would complement each other really well, and together we’d create a fun, relaxed atmosphere where guests could be themselves,” she said.
While many interview podcasts are heading towards politics, Star said that this is not the direction she wants to go.
“Politics isn’t a direction I see the show moving in. My podcast is built around conversations with interesting people and learning about their personal journeys rather than debating political issues. That said, if I had the opportunity to interview a politician, I’d absolutely be open to it. I’d be more interested in talking about their path into public service, the experiences that shaped them, and the person behind the public image than discussing political policies or party lines,” Star said.
The Lexis Star Show is available on Star’s website and major podcast platforms.
