The original movie premiere of Single Black Female did “crazy good” for Lifetime, luring in 1.8 million total viewers for Live +3. The movie ranked as TV’s top entertainment telecast across all key demos on premiere night and marks Lifetime’s best movie premiere since last year’s Wendy Williams: The Movie debut, garnering 730K A25-54, 551K W25-54, 598K A18-49, and 447K W18-49 in Live +3.
The movie also accrued 116k video starts across Lifetime’s Everywhere On-Domain platforms. With all the telecasts on linear and video starting on digital, the movie was seen by over 5.1 million total viewers.

On social media, #SingleBlackFemale ranked as the #1 most socially buzzed about program compared on broadcast and cable television during its February 5 premiere night (excluding sports and news). The program also garnered 134K interactions and is Lifetime’s #1 most socially buzzed-about feature film since Wendy Williams: The Movie.
Reeling from the death of her beloved father and a difficult breakup, Monica (Raven Goodwin), is ready to move forward with her life as she tries to land the new hosting job for an afternoon talk show. When she hires a new assistant, Simone (Amber Riley), the two quickly become close friends as Simone moves in next door and completely immerses herself in Monica’s life. But underneath her sweet exterior, Simone harbors a dark secret, and as time goes on cracks in her façade begin to appear. Monica decides to sever ties once and for all with Simone, but Simone has other plans and is determined to take over Monica’s life for good. K. Michelle also starred as Monica’s best friend Bebe.
