Mari Copeny, also known as “Little Miss Flint,” has entered the heated feud between Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion, using her platform to advocate for a critical cause. The 16-year-old activist from Flint, Michigan, who rose to prominence for her efforts to address the Flint Water Crisis, took to social media to plead for help.
Copeny suggested that Minaj and Megan donate $0.01 for every stream of their new songs in the next 24 to 48 hours to help communities facing water crises on her X (formerly known as Twitter) earlier today. This unexpected intervention highlights the ongoing struggles of many communities, and Copeny hopes that influential rappers can use their massive platforms for good.
Little Miss Flint first gained national attention in 2016 when she wrote to then-President Barack Obama, requesting assistance for her community during the Flint Water Crisis. Since then, she has been unwavering in her dedication to addressing the problem, even working with scientists to develop low-cost water filters for those in need.
While Copeny’s plea attempts to bring Minaj and Megan together for a common cause, the two rappers remain embroiled in their feud. Nicki Minaj heightened tensions by announcing a new single, “Bigfoot,” and issuing ominous threats against Megan. The conflict escalated into a spat with gossip website Pop Base, in which Minaj accused them of spreading false information about her.
