Within the Music Jewelry Box: What Locket Sounds
Why is Locket such a big deal? For starters, Madison isn’t only the face and sound of the release, she’s also an architectural mind behind it. She penned and co-produced the album alongside her long-time go-to collaborators One Love, LOSTBOY, and Leroy Clampitt, all of whom have been along for the ride of her musical evolution.
It follows those previously released singles, “bittersweet” and “yes baby,” which previewed for listeners the cinematic, vulnerable but confident path Beer has been cultivating. Explaining the album project, the album: She detailed the metaphor that dominates the album:
“After writing the album it feels like each song lives within this metaphorical locket for safe keeping. Each album feels like an era and once the albums are out in the world the chapter for me, usually with what I wrote about, is closed.”
From Life Support to Pop Powerhouse
This isn’t the first time Madison has opened herself up through music. Her 2021 debut album Life Support brought fans her darker, and edgier side, addressing mental health, breakups, and self-realization. In 2023, she returned with the cinematic, dreamy sophomore album Silence Between Songs, cementing her as an real artist beyond the “internet star” tag assigned to her earlier.
