Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter collaborated on a new track. This time, the duet is not a secret, but rather a new track named “Bring Your Love.”
Following the previous “I Feel So Free,” the track “Bring Your Love” will appear on Madonna’s album Confessions II. Both Madonna and Stuart Price are responsible for producing the song, their third collaboration. The previous one was “Confessions on a Dance Floor.”
The upcoming album, Confessions II, will be released on July 3rd. Confessions II is the sequel to “Confessions on a Dance Floor,” followed by 2019’s Madame X. Moreover, Confessions II is Madonna’s comeback to her former record label, Warner. After “Madame X,” Madonna dropped two collections: Finally Enough Love and Veronica Electronica.
“Bring Your Love” features an alternate and dual vocal of Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter. It combines spoken sections with pop melodies. The song starts with a talking section and proceeds to verses that convey a message of rejecting judgmental attitudes. The verses sound like “Don’t comment on my ideas / I don’t want your judgment or your expectations.”
The pre-chorus is charged with the words “I know where the bodies are buried.” The chorus is filled with a message of resilience and self-confidence: “Bring your love ’cause you cannot shake me / Bring your love ’cause you’ll never break me.” The chorus repeats several times during the whole song.
The verses in the second part also convey a message of rebellion towards others’ attitudes. It touches upon themes such as pressure and confrontation, using the lyrics like “autonomy and confession.” A more contemplative bridge is followed by sacrificing and taking into consideration the price paid by someone, before getting into the chorus again.
“Bring Your Love” is the latest release for Sabrina Carpenter, who is having quite a fruitful month. April began for the singer with a “House Tour” video, which resembles Bling Ring, and the artist headlined Coachella this month. During the first weekend of her performances at Coachella, such celebrities as Susan Sarandon, Will Ferrell, and Sam Elliott appeared there.
As for Madonna, after the second weekend of Coachella, she reported that some of her vintage outfits were missing. Later, Madonna claimed the clothes might have accidentally fallen from a golf cart in the desert.
Madonna and Carpenter hinted at this track on their Instagram pages before its official release. The message was “We’ve got something to say about it,” the line of the song.
Moreover, after the song’s release, Carpenter addressed the fans on her Instagram account, adding, “Bring Your Love is out now. Thank you @Madonna for inviting me to be a part of Confessions II. I hope you all enjoy it and take a break from phone and go out and dance!”
Do you think this track will be #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart next week?
