21-year-old Tik Tok star Megha Thakur has passed away ‘unexpectedly’ after posting a cryptic message of her walking in New York City. The caption said, “You’re in charge of your destiny. Remember that.” in her final Tik Tok video. Thakur passed on November 24th, according to her parent’s statement.
“Megha was a confident and independent young woman. She will be dearly missed,” the statement read.
Thakur, who also went by the name of ‘Meghaminnd,’ rose to popularity for her videos which promoted self-confidence and body positivity.
Since publishing her first video on TikTok in November of 2019, the 21-year-old social media influencer garnered over 928,000 followers and 3.2 million likes on the video-sharing platform.
The content creator collaborated with several brands, including Aveeno, Fenty & MAC cosmetics. According to a report by the Western Gazette, Thakur studied computer science at Western University and lived in Delaware before moving to Saugeen for work.
She also participated in the CAISA fashion show, a student-run charity fashion show. A funeral service was held for Thakur on Tuesday morning in Brampton, Ontario.
Thakur’s parents have not revealed the
cause of their daughter’s death!
