The multi-platinum-selling singer Melanie Martinez announced the launch of her new worldwide tour entitled “Hades: The Sacrifice”. It will begin this summer in North America and Mexico, then proceed to Europe and the UK for large-arena performances. The tour is meant to support Martinez’s fourth studio album, “HADES,” created by Live Nation.
The singer describes her upcoming concerts as the most ambitious creative journey so far, which goes hand in hand with her latest record.
“When writing HADES, I knew the tour for this album had to be immersive and cinematic,” stated Martinez. “Creating a new character and thinking of how she’ll be performing in this new world is so exciting. This tour is very different to anything I’ve done before, and involves more practical elements and camera illusions that I’m really excited about. We’re working on making sure each song gets their moment. I hope it can bring people together under these strange dystopian times we’re living in.”
“The album made a No. 3 debut on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming my fourth No. Top 10 album and third consecutive Top 5 release, – stated Martinez. “It was able to take No. 1 positions on the Billboard Top Alternative Albums and Rock & Alternative Albums rankings.” The 18-track “HADES” is described as a dark, maximalist exploration of the psyche of contemporary society. In a recent Rolling Stone review, Melanie Martinez received high praise from critics for being “a prolific visionary with no shortage of imagination.”
The concert tour announcement came after the fan-supported release of Martinez’s album, during which the artist held a listening experience in London, Amsterdam, and Toronto. After that, Melanie added several intimate live shows in New York City, Mexico City, and Los Angeles to promote “HADES” with a full band and strings.
“Hades: The Sacrifice” is Martinez’s first major tour since 2024, when she sold out the biggest venues of her career, Madison Square Garden, O2, and other large venues. Moreover, that year she became the headliner at renowned festivals such as Lollapalooza and Corona Capital.
Martinez will give a live performance of her track “POSSESSION” on tonight’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show at 11:35 pm EST on the ABC channel.
The tickets for the general public become available on April 24 at noon local time in every city. Artist presale starts on April 22 at noon for people who signed up in advance, with additional presales throughout the week. Fans who have ordered HADES from Martinez’s official web store before April 1st can attend the presale in Europe and the UK.
