One of the recent cases of child abuse in South Florida involved the arrest of a Miami mother accused of attacking her 12-year-old son because he interrupted a conversation during which she possibly made plans to meet an extramarital lover.
Lucianny Lizbeth Luna, 32, was booked for child abuse without great bodily harm. The suspect is still detained until the bond hearing.
Police report that Luna drove to school to pick up her son and take him to a park. As soon as she started talking on the phone, her son intervened, saying that he wasn’t supposed to visit the park for leisure but because his coach was going to pick him up there, and that his mother was speaking to the man who could be her love interest.
As reported by her son, Luna responded aggressively to what he had said to her, slapping him hard across the face, pulling his hair, beating the back of his head with a small glass bottle, and trying to cut him with her keys, scratching his hand in the process of blocking her attempts.
Furthermore, according to the reports provided by her son, Luna abused him at their home, too. When the boy told the stepfather about the conversation, she hit him, shoved him against a wall, and prevented him from escaping. Eventually, he managed to isolate himself in his room, with Luna staying at the door saying, “I want to kill you” and “You’re not my son.”
After some time, the kid told the employees of his school about the abuse, and the investigation resulted in the mother’s arrest.
