A 22-year-old teacher’s aide is now facing various felony charges following allegations that she had sexual contact with a 15-year-old student more than three times.
Jessenia Rodriguez, who works as an aide at the Sun Valley Academy, has been arrested by detectives after they raided her house. She is currently facing four charges of sexual conduct with a minor and luring a minor into sexual exploitation. The bail amount for her is pegged at $100,000.
The incident came after the stepmother of the victim stumbled across information about the relationship, and after being encouraged by other parents, she went through his phone. Police say there was evidence in support of the claim that the two individuals were sexually involved.
The young boy revealed to the police that their relationship first began when they interacted during recess periods and exchanged numbers before proceeding to have sex at least three times, with their first encounter having occurred just last month.
The detectives recovered numerous pictures and messages from the boy’s phone, which included messages where Rodriguez shared the results of her pregnancy tests while mentioning abortions. There were also messages from Snapchat where she told the student that she was “craving” him and described her dream involving them having intercourse.
Rodriguez advised the boy against informing others about their relationship, saying she would face dire consequences if any member of the community became aware.
In an interview with the detectives after her arrest, she admitted to three sexual encounters without denying that the last encounter involved sexual acts. She also admitted to knowing the child’s age.
