Michigan Orthodontist Thomas Shannon Charged In Child Porn Case

A 41-year-old man that’s an orthodontist in Michigan is facing multiple charges for offering to pay a 17-year-old girl for nude images and videos, according to court documents.

When the police came into his place of work and asked him questions about the incident, they didn’t get enough probable cause to arrest him.

The orthodontist went above and beyond to prove his innocence, so he hired a computer forensics investigator to investigate his iCloud and iPhone to prove there was no child pornography on his electronics.

Instead of coming back clean, the orthodontist reportedly had massive amounts of child pornography on his electronics, including photos of a boy and girl under the age of 10 appearing to have sex. The investigator also uncovered large amounts of sexually explicit images of girls that are aged 12 and younger.

Police found more images of fully nude girls and boys got discovered after they executed a search warrant. The photos found contained infants, prepubescent and adolescent children that exposed their genitals and pubic areas, authorities claimed. 

The Michigan orthodontist got identified as Thomas Shannon. He faces two counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, two counts of possession of sexually abusive material, two counts of using a computer to commit a crime (10-20-year felony), and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime (a four to a 10-year felony). Shannon’s bond got set at $200,000.
