Warner Bros. has just released a new trailer for Mortal Kombat II, giving fans a glimpse of the bloody fighting, the beloved characters, and the fantasy madness leading up to the May 8th theater release.
The new installment will be the next part in the series following the 2021 reboot of Mortal Kombat. That installment delivered the bloody fighting and the fan service that most people aware of the long-running video game series created by Ed Boon and John Tobias expect.
In the new trailer, the character Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban, asks what it means to be a hero, offering fans a glimpse of bloody fighting scenes. It has the same feel as the series has always been known for, ending with the theme song we all know and love.
The new installment seems to be based on the synopsis, which tells the story of the beloved Mortal Kombat champions. Still, this time, Johnny Cage joins the fray as they all compete in the ultimate grind to defeat the evil regime of Shao Kahn. The very talented Martyn Ford will play Shao Kahn.
The new installment will be directed by the same person who helmed Mortal Kombat in 2021. That person is none other than the very talented Simon McQuoid.
The new installment will also feature a talented cast, including Ludi Lin, Jessica McNamee, Joe Taslim, Hiroyuki Sanada, Adeline Rudolph, Tati Gabrielle, Josh Lawson, Tadanobu Asano, and CJ Bloomfield.
