Hofstra University pre-med student, Nafiah Fatima, was viciously attacked in her driveway by an unknown man with white gloves that threw acid on her. The brutal incident left the 21-year-old with burns on her face, chest, throat and arms.
Nassau Police put out a public call to help identify the attacker, who was described as a 6-foot-tall male with a “skinny build.” The suspect then fled the scene in a red 2013-2015 Nissan Altima, but no further details about the attackers are public at this time.
Fatima is out of the hospital and is currently looking for a plastic surgeon to help with the long term effects from this brutal attack. As of April 20th, Fatima’s page was among the top three most active causes listed on GoFundMe, having raised over $233,121 dollars in the 3 days since it was posted.
